Answering Your Questions About Window Tinting

Here you will find answers to our most Frequently Asked Questions concerning window tinting for autos, homes, and office.

1. Isn’t Window Tinting on automobiles illegal?

No, it varies state by state. Here in Washington, this is the regulation:

The maximum level of sun screening material that can legally be applied to any window, except the windshield, shall have a total reflectance of 35% or less, and a light transmittance of 35% or more resulting in a minimum of 24% light transmission on AS-2 glazing. Mirror finish products are not allowed. Red, yellow, gold or black material is also not allowed, and brushed or sprayed-on material is also off limits. You can learn more here.

And here is what all that means. We typically apply a 30-35% window tint on automobiles which meets the 24% light transmission requirment. This is for cars. On multi-purpose vehicles (SUV, Truck, etc.), while you still need to meet that requirement on the 2 front doors, everything behind the 2 front doors can be as dark as you desire.

2. What is your warranty?

On automobiles, we offer a LIFETIME warranty for as long as you own your car. That means for as long as you own your car, we will fix it FREE should any problem with your window tinting arise. It is important to note, for autos this is also a NATIONAL guarantee. Should you move from the area, a dealer in another city will fix any problem that should arise with your auto window tinting.

On homes, we offer a LIFETIME warranty for as long as you own your home. Should a problem arise, simply call us and we’ll come and repair it.

On Commercial properties and Office buildings, depending on the window tint film you choose, warranties can vary. Window films for office and commercial window tinting typically carry a warranty between 10 and 15 years depending on brand of window tinting film you choose.

3. How long does it take to have window tinting done?

On automobiles, it is same day service – typically in about 2 hours. Just make an appointment and pick your auto up same day. On homes, we can complete your job 99% of the time in just 1 day. We leave your home just like we found it. You won’t even know we were there except for the tinted windows we leave behind for you to enjoy. On commercial projects, it depends on the size of the job. Regardless, we are efficient and fast as we understand you do not want a work crew in your facility for days on end. We will work with you on scheduling and give you a time frame for finishing your office or commercial project when we give you our estimate.
